Ariana Grande's 2026 Tour: A Last Hurrah?

Pop powerhouse Ariana Grande has stunned fans by announcing that her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour will be her "one last hurrah" for live performances – potentially for a very long time. The Grammy winner made the revelation during a candid conversation with actress Amy Poehler on her podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler, leaving fans to speculate about the future of her groundbreaking music career.

The Upcoming Tour: A More Intimate Experience

Scheduled to run from June to September 2026, the tour marks Grande's first live shows in seven years since her massive Sweetener World Tour in 2019. However, this time around, the 32-year-old singer is opting for a significantly more intimate scale. The tour will feature just 10 select dates across North America and London's The O2, a stark contrast to her previous global extravaganzas that included 101 shows in 2019 and 77 in 2017.

"I'm very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time," Grande shared on the podcast. "So I'm going to give it my all and it's going to be beautiful." Fans can expect her to showcase songs from her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine, which earned her three Grammy nominations and a deluxe edition titled Brighter Days Ahead.

A Career in Full Bloom: From Music to Hollywood

While fans may worry this signals the end of her music career, Grande's recent focus has been equally impactful on the silver screen. Her portrayal of Glinda in last year's Wicked musical film earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and she's currently promoting the highly anticipated sequel Wicked: For Good (out November 21). She and co-star Cynthia Erivo also received a Grammy nomination for their performance of "Defying Gravity."

Beyond musicals, Grande has expanded her acting horizons with roles in the Meet the Parents comedy sequel Focker In-Law and FX's American Horror Story, marking her first TV role in over a decade. "Very silly of you all to assume that just because I have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music," she wrote in a July Instagram post. "it is and has always been my lifeline."

Music Isn't Going Anywhere

Grande emphasized that her "last hurrah" comment reflects her desire to explore other creative avenues rather than abandoning music completely. "I grew up as a girl who loved musical theatre and comedy," she explained. "I think what will be best for my soul and my art will be pursuing things that feel very right in the moment."

"The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up."

With her Glinda era concluding and new acting projects on the horizon, Grande is clearly at a career crossroads. However, her reassurances to fans suggest a future where both music and acting continue to coexist, perhaps in different formats than the relentless touring schedule of her early career.

What's Next for Ariana?

As anticipation builds for the Eternal Sunshine Tour, fans are left wondering what Grande will tackle next. Whether she takes an extended break from touring to focus on film, television, or even Broadway remains to be seen. One thing is certain: with her unmatched vocal talent and versatility, Ariana Grande has proven she can conquer any stage – whether it's a concert arena or the Oscars red carpet.
