Venus Williams Ties Knot with Andrea Preti in Dual Ceremonies
Tennis icon Venus Williams exchanged vows with actor and producer Andrea Preti not once, but twice, in a celebration blending Italian heritage and Floridian roots. The multi-day festivities, meticulously planned by Williams's sister Serena Williams's wedding planner Jennifer Zabinski of JZ Events, captivated fans and showcased the couple's unique love story.
A Tale of Two Weddings
The journey to the altar began with a romantic proposal in Tuscany on January 31, 2025. While the couple initially dreamed of an Italian wedding to honor Preti's heritage, logistical hurdles—specifically paperwork requirements for Williams, a non-Italian citizen—led to a brilliant compromise. They hosted a first ceremony in Ischia, Italy, on September 18, 2025, followed by a second, more elaborate celebration in Palm Beach, Florida, in December.
The Palm Beach extravaganza spanned six days, kicking off with a gift from Serena: a beautiful yacht for an intimate gathering with 10-12 closest family and friends. "We were singing, dancing, gossiping, and just enjoying each other," Venus shared with Vogue, highlighting the joyous start to the week.
A Week of Festivities
The celebration was packed with memorable events:
- Boudoir-Themed Bridal Shower: A lively affair featuring a Beyoncé-only lip-sync battle, with Serena Williams joining in the fun.
- Daily Pool Parties: Hosted at the couple's home, setting a relaxed and glamorous tone.
- Italian Dinner: Organized by Preti at the members' club Sopra, adding a personal touch.
- Sports Day: An active celebration offering volleyball, tennis, dodgeball, wheelbarrow races, and pickleball.
- Courthouse Wedding: A 6:45 a.m. legal ceremony on December 19, followed by the main event later that day.
The couple wrote their own vows in both English and Italian, with Preti praising Venus's fluency: "Venus, though shy, speaks Italian very, very well."
Bridal Glamour and Family Ties
Venus served as a true fashion muse, changing into multiple stunning designer gowns throughout the Palm Beach festivities. For the courthouse ceremony, she wore a "divine" custom Morilee New York gown, opting for a simpler short skirt and top ensemble afterward to avoid drawing attention.
"When I saw Venus, she was beautiful, like a goddess," Preti told Vogue, moved to tears upon seeing his bride in her Hobieka creation. Venus had a magical experience selecting the gown during a whirlwind Paris Fashion Week trip, with her sister Isha brought in to witness the moment.
Serena played a pivotal role, not just as planner but also as a supportive sister. Recalling her own multi-dress wedding, Serena helped Venus with numerous outfit options and hairstyles, even creating a PDF of recommendations within 30 minutes. "She wanted literally 14 hairstyles," Serena quipped to PEOPLE.
The Grand Finale
The reception concluded with a party bus trip to an after-party at Sophia's Hobe Sound, where Venus danced to Sexyy Red and French Montana while Preti chose rest with their dog. "He had to get some rest with our dog. But I jumped on," Venus said, perfectly encapsulating the couple's fun yet grounded dynamic.
From the Amalfi Coast meeting in July 2024 to the dual ceremonies, Venus Williams and Andrea Preti have crafted a wedding experience as unique and vibrant as their love story. Congratulations to the happy couple!
